Gfps Collective Bargaining Agreement

“In both agreements, they specify that each part-time and full-time worker will receive their regular schedules as long as they continue to work properly and as required by their supervisor,” said Kerry Dattilo, GFPS Director of Human Resources. “As part of this agreement, the borough also wishes to extend the same conditions and has extended the same conditions to all full-time and part-time workers who are not covered by a collective agreement.” As controversial as the process is, collective bargaining is worth it for both the GFEA and the GFPS. Teachers must rightly be respected by the public`s boards of directors. The public should be aware that its school board is investing taxpayers` money with caution. The Great Forks community and professional educators are well served by this agreement. The municipality recognizes that investing in the region`s professional faculty strengthens the GFPS` ability to attract and retain the high-quality specialized staff that Grand Forks students need and deserve. Teachers have earned the respect of the board of directors by joining and speaking with one voice. This has helped them understand that their investments in teachers are affordable and wise. Wage and benefit continuity agreements during school closures require all district employees to retain health care and be authorized in advance by a worker`s supervisor for compensation. Any leave during the school closure is deducted from the delimitation of the worker`s leave. The agreement also emphasizes that all employees who work on site during this period comply with The Center for Disease Control guidelines and that employees may be invited by the District to perform tasks outside of their normal work. The terms of the agreement were obtained after the district met in March with several different negotiating groups to establish Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) to pay district staff for the duration of school closures.
